Walk the Beech Forest Trail, a well-maintained 1.6km path through the World Heritage designated area of the Shirakami Sanchi.
A guide will accompany you on the path and provide easy-to-understand explanations about the beech trees, local animals, the Matagi People (traditional hunters), etc.
Try some fresh, delicious spring water before starting your walk. In the spring you can enjoy the remaining late-winter snows and budding spring greens; in summer, see the many different flowers of Shirakami; and in autumn, the bright yellow leaves of the beech forest.
